C.E.O.  Sir Iain Hall

Sir Iain had twenty three years of successful headship before taking up posts with the National College for School Leadership and the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust. He has served on many D.f.E. working parties and committees including the Lancashire and West Yorkshire Academies Board.

He was co-founder of Future Leaders which is a national programme for training aspirant headteachers for service in disadvantaged urban areas and has achieved national and international recognition as a keynote speaker on topics such as leadership and urban disadvantage.

He was knighted for ‘services to education’ in 2002.

 

Shane Ierston – Director of Teaching and Learning

Shane started his teaching career after graduating in Biochemistry. He has held senior leadership positions for more than ten years. In the firm belief that great outcomes come from great teaching Shane has devoted considerable time and energy researching and analysing what makes great teaching. He is presently Principal of King’s Leadership Academy in Warrington. He is driven by the belief that all children, irrespective of circumstances, deserve a high quality education.

 

Andrew Reay – Director of Character and Leadership

Educated at the universities of Loughborough, Durham and Birmingham, and a graduate of Royal Air Force College Cranwell, Andrew knows firsthand the benefits of strong leadership and character development. As strategic lead for one of the RAF’s primary operational policies, he also completed a PhD during his officer commission.  On joining the teaching profession, Andrew started as a senior leader in a highly successful national support school, transforming a north-west school in serious difficulties in his second year. He is presently Associate Principal of King’s Leadership Academy, Warrington developing a curriculum rich in tradition and one focused heavily on developing leadership, citizenship, character and enterprise, key attributes required for our top universities, commerce and industries.
