Sam Barton

ICT Support Officer

I began my career in IT in 2020 during the pandemic, starting out in a small computer repair shop where I developed a strong foundation in hardware diagnostics, repairs and troubleshooting. I later joined a multi service provider specialising in education, where I completed my IT apprenticeship. During my time there, I gained experience working across a very wide range of schools and systems including work in Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

In January 2025, I joined King's Leadership Academy Trust as a Technical Support Officer, having previously managed IT at Northway Primary School before it became King's Northway. I now also provide IT support across King's Leadership Academy Wavertree and Phoenix. My role involves providing technical support to staff and pupils, maintaining IT systems and ensuring technology remains reliable, accessible and effective in supporting teaching and learning.

Having personally attended a school where IT wasn't a major focus, I am particularly passionate about ensuring pupils have access to the opportunities that modern technology can provide. I take pride in helping bridge the gap between IT and the classroom, allowing pupils to benefit from new technologies and develop skills that will support them beyond education.

I enjoy tackling technical challenges and believe there is always another way to approach a problem. Alongside my role, I am continuing to expand my knowledge of cybersecurity and ethical hacking through OffSec.
