Lead Practitioners – EBacc Subjects

 In order to support the growth of the Great Schools Trust, the trust is seeking Lead Practitioners for all EBacc subjects who are centrally tasked but locally deployed to work with the academies senior leadership teams in ensuring that our students study in an academy that will be recognised as outstanding. This is a unique opportunity, and the successful applicant will find this role both challenging and fulfilling as the trust operates across Merseyside, Warrington and Greater Manchester. As Lead Practitioner he / she will be expected to work with other middle leaders both cross trust and within individual academies in helping subject practitioners to deliver excellence to young people on a wider scale whilst further developing the reputation of the trust. Capital Programmes, Estates & Facilities Manager

You will be responsible for leading the way in design and efficiency, maintaining our current academies whilst delivering our new academies on time and on budget and to the standards required by the Department of Education and the Great Schools Trust. The successful candidate will manage teams of contractors, professionals and internal staff including technical advisors, surveyors, project managers and individual academy operations staff. They will liaise regularly with a range of key stakeholders, including Trustees, the D.f.E, Local Authorities and contractors. This is an important and high-profile role within the Trust supporting the Chief Strategic Officer with the planning, management, and delivery of our secondary school programme.

Who we’re looking for

You will be a values driven, committed individual who can bring significant experience of contract, project, procurement and estates management to the Trust. We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead:

The planning, management and delivery of the Trust’s Capital Programme

Individual academy and Trust-wide refurbishment and building development programmes, and

Lead in the delivery of facilities management services to the Trust and its constituent academies.

The successful candidate will be expected to have:

  • A degree in Building Surveying or equivalent building qualification
  • A proven track record of delivering building surveying, or equivalent skilled expertise, in a building or property related role
  • Experience of delivering a multi-project programme of building works to a number of clients simultaneously
  • Strong knowledge of the construction and property management industries, demonstrating good understanding of emerging and current thinking likely to impact on the Trust
  • Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety related to, and affecting sites, property and FM services.
