Capacity Building

The Great Schools Trust is seeking qualified teachers with secondary school experience to join its central supply team. The successful applicants will be deployed at one or more of its academies to help build the capacity of the academy during times of change and growth. One year fixed term contracts available. Head of Institute of Character & Leadership (IOCL)

The Great Schools Trust is now home to 5 academies and is seeking to expand further. The principal aim of the post is to set up and lead the IOCL. Working collaboratively with trust leaders and academy Principals, the post holder will be predominantly responsible for leading the Trust’s efforts to train and develop the next generation of GST academy and instructional leaders, including middle leaders, senior leaders, Principals and System Leaders. The post holder will also ensure that GST’s Personal Development programmes continue to go from strength to strength and that all leadership programmes are of benefit to those outside of the organisation, ensuring that the Institute works with national agencies, leadership partners and HEIS to support alliance schools with their leadership needs. Head of ITT and Teacher Development (NQT, RQT)

We are seeking a Professional Mentor who firmly believes in the values, vision and mission of the trust and has the drive, energy and commitment to ensure that they become rooted in the everyday life of the trust’s newly appointed NQT’s and Teach First appointments. The successful candidate will lead the trust through deep cultural change in promoting and establishing a secure career foundation and training programme for all trainee, first year and recently qualified teachers, whilst work with teaching scholars to enable them to achieve qualified teacher status.  

The appointee will become a member of the trust’s executive team on a part-time basis whose remit is to further develop the Great Schools Trust’s educational model, share good practice and collaborate on cross-trust CPD and other projects.
