GCSE Results 2026 Great Schools Trust

Back

Students across the Great Schools Trust are celebrating their GCSE results today, with outstanding individual achievements, improving outcomes and exciting next steps marking a memorable Results Day for the Class of 2026.

Across King’s Leadership Academies in Bolton, Hawthornes, Liverpool and Warrington, the stories behind the grades demonstrate the ambition, endeavour and character of young people preparing to take their next steps.

At King’s Leadership Academy Bolton, students achieved more than 200 grades at 8 and 9 and more than 400 at grades 7 to 9, alongside a 100% pass rate in Triple Science.

Among those celebrating is Aaminah Patel, who achieved five grade 9s and two grade 8s and will now continue her studies at Bolton Sixth Form.

Aaminah said: “I’m extremely pleased with my results; all the hard work has paid off and I’m looking forward to joining Bolton Sixth Form to study Cybersecurity and Business.”

Fellow student Mahdee Sharddar, who achieved five grade 9s and two grade 8s, reflected on the years of work behind his results.

“I’m really pleased and happy with my results. This is a result of my endeavour over five years and I’m looking forward to joining Bolton Sixth Form.”

There were equally impressive stories at King’s Leadership Academy Hawthornes, where students celebrated success across academic, creative and language subjects.

Natasha achieved grade 9s in Chemistry, Geography and Graphics, alongside a grade 8 in Biology and grade 7s in English Literature, Mathematics, Physics and Spanish.

Arshida secured grade 9s in Art, Chemistry and Persian, five grade 8s and a grade 7 in History, while the academy also celebrated a remarkable grade 9 hat-trick across Art, Graphics and 3D Design.

For Charlie Results Day marked a particularly special family milestone. He secured nine GCSE passes after following his siblings through Hawthornes, with his father paying tribute to the support the family has received from the academy over the years.

Andrea St John, Principal at King’s Hawthornes, said: “Behind every grade is a young person who has a dream and each child has worked incredibly hard. Today we celebrate not only their results, but the exciting futures they have created for themselves.”

At King’s Leadership Academy Liverpool, GCSE outcomes improved for the fourth consecutive year, with increases in the proportion of students achieving grades 4 and 5 or above in both English and Maths, as well as another rise in Attainment 8.

Among the academy’s standout performers was Evangeline, who achieved five grade 9s and three grade 8s, securing an 8 or 9 in every subject.

Mariya achieved two grade 9s and three grade 8s, significantly outperforming her starting points, while Renad secured four grade 8s, four grade 7s and a Distinction* in Health and Social Care.

Scott Cordon, Principal at King’s Liverpool, said: “Today is about celebrating our young people and how far this academy has come. Congratulations to the whole year group.”

Students at King’s Leadership Academy Warrington also have plenty to celebrate, with more than 10% of the cohort achieving grades 8 or above across their suite of subjects and more than 65% choosing to progress to A-level study.

Isaac Ford was one of the top performers in the country for Creative iMedia, while Hannah Jepsen demonstrated exceptional endeavour by achieving top grades across her full suite of subjects.

Umar Hussain, Principal at King’s Warrington, said: “These results truly reflect the determination and hard work shown by our Year 11 students. They have pursued academic excellence and developed the leadership qualities and strength of character that will guide them in the years ahead.”

Across the Great Schools Trust, these individual stories capture what GCSE Results Day is really about: young people seeing years of hard work open doors to their futures.

Whether progressing to A-levels, vocational study, apprenticeships or other opportunities, the Class of 2026 leaves Year 11 with new choices ahead of them and much to be proud of.

Congratulations to every member of the Great Schools Trust Class of 2026.
