Cadets Raise the Flag for Armed Forces Week

Two very smart cadets from the Great Schools Trust represented their Academies with the utmost professionalism this week.

On Monday, NW RFCA invited employers from across the region for a flag raising event at Altcar Training Camp.

Cadets from the Combined Cadet Force at King’s Leadership Academy Liverpool and King’s Leadership Academy Hawthornes, raised the flag to celebrate the start of Armed Forces week.

Cadets were joined by Major Andrew Brownrigg from Royal Marines Reserve Merseyside and Squadron Leader Lee Miller from 611 Squadron RAuxAF. Following the flag raising, participants were invited to a tour of the camp to provide further insights into site activity.

Geoff Nuzum, Head of Engagement stated: “NW RFCA is incredibly proud and supportive of the Armed Forces Community, both those who serve and those who have served. We’re delighted that our supportive employers could join us today to show their respect and appreciation.”

This week, Reserves Day is celebrated on Wednesday 22 June and Armed Forces Week culminates with National Armed Forces Day on Saturday 25 June.
